Bernita Bishop

Bernita A. Bishop, 88, of McComb, went to be with the Lord and was reunited with her loving husband, Gene, Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022.

Bernita was born Feb. 8, 1934, in Mt. Blanchard, to the late Harry and Irene (Dick) Bunnell. She married the love of her life, R. Gene Bishop, on June 11, 1952, and he preceded her in death May 27, 2019. Bernita is survived by her children, Nancy (Dennis) Marquart of Jenera, Karen (Dan) Walski of Transfer, Pennsylvania, Linda (Glenn) Brickman of McComb, Janet (Ben) Butler of McComb, and Steve (Shelley) Bishop of Findlay; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and sister, Emma Lue (Robert) Snively of McComb.

Bernita was a 1952 graduate of McComb High School and was a proud farmers wife. She worked as a cook for McComb Local Schools for 10 years. Bernita was an excellent seamstress. She was a good Christian and was a great example to others. One of Bernita's greatest enjoyments was gathering with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation for Bernita will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 370 Park Dr. S., McComb, Ohio, 45858. Bernita's celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at McComb Union Cemetery. Bernita's celebration of life service will be live-streamed on Hanneman Funeral Home Findlay & McComb Facebook page.
