Laurence Loveman Obituary

Laurence (Larry) Loveman

Laurence (Larry) Jon Loveman, 79, of Marblehead, and formerly of the Canton, area passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Otterbein North Shore with his daughter by his side. He was born July 21, 1946, in Cleveland, the son of Edwin Lloyd and Miriam Martha (Gussow) Loveman. Larry spent most of his early years in Medina and graduated from Medina High School in 1964. He then served his country as a medical corpsman in the United States Navy. After two years of active duty, he spent four years in the Reserves. Larry worked in finance, the scrap metal industry, and sales, but was happiest as an antique dealer. Many people knew and loved him as "The King of Hartville" at Hartville Marketplace before he had to give up his realm due to severe Covid in 2021. He then moved to the Marblehead area to be near his daughter. He quickly became friends with everyone he met, especially those at Otterbein and Ottawa County Senior Resources.

Larry will be sadly missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Jack Lautermilch of Marblehead; along with his first wife, Trudy (nee Fetzer) of Findlay. Larry was proud to be the third of four sons. He is predeceased by his older brothers, Eric Loveman and Jim (Marcia) Loveman. He is survived by his younger brother, Mike (Susan) Loveman of Roanoke, Virginia, and nieces and nephews. Larry will be fondly remembered by many… especially his lifelong friend, Edwin (Bernie) Suddleson, all his friends and customers in the antique and auction world, and his five former stepchildren and their families.

In his later years, Larry enjoyed riding his Harley, buying and selling "junk", talking with people (giving advice), and his four-legged companions, especially his beloved Pomeranian, Baby.

Interment with military honors will be at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville. Those who cared about Larry are welcome to attend the brief service; it is recommended that they arrive early. If you knew Larry well, you would know he always had to be early so he could be first in line.

Memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers in Larry's name. He was also very honored when someone anonymously bought him lunch because he was a veteran. So, the next time you see the opportunity, please pay it forward and buy someone a meal in Larry's memory. Condolences may be shared online at www.neideckercrosserpriesman.com or Neidecker, Crosser, & Priesman Funeral Home, 7755 E. Harbor Rd., Marblehead, OH 43440
