Ronald L. Thompson

Ronald L. Thompson, 82, of North Baltimore, died at 12:55 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2025, at Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore. He was born April 25, 1943, in North Baltimore to the late Gilbert B. and Florence B. (Smith) Thompson.

Ron is survived by his brother, Charles T. Thompson of Bangor, Maine; niece, Deborah Thompson of Toledo; many distant cousins around the United States; and special friends and caregivers, Kathy Carles and Carter Thomas.

He was also preceded in by a sister, Sarah Thompson and a sister-in-law, Helen Thompson.

Ron attended Deshler Local Schools, Toledo Public Schools, and graduated from North Baltimore High School in 1961. He also attended Tiffin University where he was a member of Phi Theta Honorary Business Commerce Fraternity. He graduated in 1965 with a BCS degree in accounting.

Ron was employed by Ronfeldt Associates, Inc. in Toledo as assistant to VP of purchasing and production, Garwood Industries in Findlay, in charge of hourly payroll and part-time computer operator, and Bowling Green State University, where he was director of computer operations when he retired after 25 years in December 1994.

Ron was a longtime supporter of BGSU Women's Basketball and Volleyball. He also was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2633. He also fought a lifelong struggle with the effects of having polio and scoliosis when he was four years old.

Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township.
