Janice Seredich Obituary

Janice Seredich

Janice I. (Swartz) Seredich, 73, died Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Taylor Place in Findlay. Jan was born March 22,1953, to Norman J. and Irene L. (Adler) Swartz and grew up in North Baltimore, graduating from North Baltimore High School in 1971.

Jan spent most of her life in Dayton. She worked 30 years for Ameritech (AT&T), starting in their office, then as a lineman doing installation and repair ("once women were allowed to do so"), splicing cables underground, and ending her career designing cable layouts for new neighborhoods. She retired in 2004. Always saying she loved her job!

Jan enjoyed retirement and loving on her dog, Lucy. She would bake and cook for all her friends and neighbors. She also did a lot of needlework, especially cross-stitch pictures, which her family now proudly displays. She stayed very busy at fair time, winning an entire wall full of ribbons for her cooking and sewing. While in Dayton, she joined VFW 9927 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 598 Auxiliary, MOC 009 Auxiliary, Telephone Pioneers, and VFW National Home for Children, and Past Presidents Association of VFW Auxiliary, holding local and District positions. Jan thoroughly enjoyed singing. One of her very best memories was being a member of All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir while in high school and traveling to Europe with the choir.

Jan married the "love of her life", Marty Seredich, in 1992. Unfortunately, they were only married for two years before his death. Also preceding her in death is her daughter, Angela Leigh Minneman (in 2013); her parents; four brothers, Paul, Robert, Richard, and Steven; and two sisters, Diane Duzenski and Norma Evans.

Jan is survived by two brothers, Anthony Swartz (Angela) of North Baltimore and William Swartz (Teresa) of Bowling Green; sister-in-law, Janellen Swartz; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Jan's family so appreciates the genuine love and dedication of her friend and high school buddy Jill Ring.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in North Baltimore, with the Rev. Art Niewiadomski offering a funeral service at 1 p.m.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to V.F.W. Post 9927 Ladies Auxiliary.
