William Thomas Obituary

William "Bill" Thomas

William (Bill) Lindsey Thomas, 79, of North Baltimore, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025. He was born June 30, 1946, in Findlay, Ohio to the late Hoyal and Redora (Brumbaugh) Thomas. He married his wife, Beth (Bryan), February 12, 1969, and she survives.

Bill graduated from North Baltimore High School in 1964. He then served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1967. He was a member of American Legion Post 539 in North Baltimore.

Bill retired from Chrysler in 2001 after working there for 33 years. He was a die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes fan and could be found watching the games with his sons, grandsons and son-in-law most Saturdays. He also was a Yankees fan and spent countless hours watching them play.

Bill always enjoyed his westerns, especially those starring John Wayne, and chances are if there was no ball game on, he could be found watching one of those. He also enjoyed all his vacations. Whether it was the summer trips down to Tennessee cruising through Cades Cove with his family, or yearly trips down to Aruba with his wife Beth and his famous "Aruba friends".

Bill will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for his smart remarks, his ornery and "grumpy" personality and his one-of-a-kind ways of showing his love. Bill is preceded in death by his daughter, mother, father, sister, Elsie and brother, Jack.

He is survived by his wife, Beth of North Baltimore; children, John (Tanya) of Fostoria, Ronda (Joe) Kepling of North Baltimore, and Wesley (Amanda) Thomas of Woodville; grandchildren, Zachary (Callie) Engard, Allison and Gunner Kepling, Leia Thomas, Griffin and Lydia Thomas; great-grandchildren, Brielle, Carter and Camden Engard; brother, Dave Thomas of Gonzales, Louisiana; sisters, Peggy Thomas of North Baltimore and Emily Piner of Tennessee; mother-in-law, Sally Halstead of North Baltimore; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

There will be no services per Bill's wishes. Arrangements are being handled by SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to National MS Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
