William L. James

William L. James, 86, of Forest, died Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Serenity Spring Senior Living at Arlington. He was born December 16, 1938, in Hardin County to the late Earl M. & Doris (Spracklin) James. He married Sue Ann "Susie" Reynolds on December 17, 1960, and she passed January 6, 2025. Bill is also preceded in death by his son, Rodney James; and two brothers, Larry and Keith James.

Mr. James is survived by his daughter, Tonja Lee "TJ" (Samantha Bradburn) James of Waynesville; daughter-in-law, Kim (Michael) Moore of Arlington; granddaughter, Kylie Moore of Arlington; brother, Ronald James of LaRue; and sister-in-law, Mary James of Urbana.

Bill was a 1956 graduate of LaRue High School. He served in the Ohio National Guard for three years. He was a member of LaRue United Methodist Church. Bill was a tool and die maker at Triumph Thermal Systems for over 42 years. Bill was a volunteer on the Forest Fire Department for 40 years. He served on the Ambulance Board, Forest City Council, and Planning Commission for Forest and Jackson Township. Bill was a great carpenter and he built his own home. He collected corn husking items, and enjoyed vacationing in Michigan.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2025, at Clark Shields Funeral Home, Forest. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Clark Shields Funeral Home, with the Rev. Douglas Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Hueston Cemetery with military honors conducted by Hardin County Honor Guard.
