Dwight Emerson Hawkins

Dwight Emerson Hawkins, 92, entered into eternal rest Friday, April 3,2026. He was born October 23, 1933, to Virgil Paul and Mary Edith (McGowan) Hawkins. He proudly served in The United States Air Force and graduated from Ohio Northern University in Ada. He married the love of his life, Rose Marie Hagedorn, with whom he shared 66 years.

He worked as an accountant at Marathon Oil Company in Findlay for over 32 years. After his retirement, he moved back to his hometown of Jackson Center to reside at Rose's family farmhouse, which they renovated for family gatherings. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and his beloved dogs, which could do no wrong.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; favorite son, Kevin (Rebecca); favorite daughter, Julie Pressnell (Michael); sister, Rosemary Christler; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his dog, Buddy Marie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Beulah Hawkins and Wanda Knasel.

Dwight was a regular blood donor and donated over 15 gallons during his lifetime. He never lost his sense of humor and asked that everyone leave him a cookie in his casket in case he might need one.

Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 17714 Montra Rd., Jackson Center, OH 45334, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
