Gary L. Moser

Gary Lynn Moser, 66, of rural Deshler, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, at The Meadows of Ottawa after battling Alzheimer's Disease.

Gary was born November 23, 1959, in Bowling Green to the late Robert and Bertha Jane "B.J." (Snyder) Moser. The youngest of three boys, Gary graduated from McComb High School in 1979.

In the fall of 1980, while working at Sherwin-Williams/Deshler Products, Gary went on a first date with Deborah Kerr of Deshler. Who would have thought? Exactly one year after that first date, they married October 24, 1981, at Hoytville United Methodist Church.

Married for over 44 years, Gary and Deb made memories to last a lifetime. They enjoyed traveling, and the most memorable trips were to Israel, Alaska, Yellowstone, Gatlinburg and several trips out west. Locally, they made countless trips to Holmes County Amish Country so Gary could keep a steady supply of black-raspberry rolls and molasses cookies.

Gary worked as a skilled electrician for over 24 years at Silgan Container Company, Napoleon. He previously spent 13 years at Sherwin-Williams/Deshler Products and worked briefly for Claude Sintz and Deshler Municipal Utilities. He finally retired in 2024.

Aside from working hard to provide for his family, Gary practiced a life of faith. He was a faithful member of Oakdale Church, where he enjoyed Bible study, mission committee and various mission trips. He proudly served his community as an EMT for over 15 years with Deshler EMS. He was also a reputable breeder of Labrador Retrievers. He provided family pets for friends, neighbors and certainly his own home.

Gary is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Deb; son, Mitchell and Jennifer Moser and their sons, Marshall and Wesson, whom Gary loved watching grow up and attending their baseball games; son, Aaron Moser and fiancée Amy Roth, whose wedding Gary was looking forward to April 25, 2026. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Sue Moser and Kay Moser; and his mother-in-law, Lou Ann Kerr.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard "Rick" Moser and Dennis "Denny" Moser.

Services are at 11 a.m.Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler. Burial is at McComb Union Cemetery, and a luncheon will follow at Oakdale Church.

Visitation is 2-7 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, at the funeral home.
