Susan Mason Gons

Susan Mason (Thompson) Gons went to her eternal home to dwell with her beloved Savior, Jesus Christ, at 5:07 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023.

Susan Marie Mason was born March 13, 1953, in Lebanon, Indiana, to the Rev. James Eugene Mason and Evelyn Marie (Kahler) Mason. Susan's father passed away when she was just four days old. As a young girl, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and followed him faithfully throughout her life.

After living with her mother and maternal grandparents in Tiffin for seven years, Susan gained a wonderful father in Dr. Orville Chester Thompson and became Susan Mason Thompson in 1961. As a result of their marriage, Susan gained two older siblings (Cindy Romick and Roger Thompson) and two younger siblings (Debra Flickinger and Cheryl Townsend).

Having had a passion for prayer and the Word of God, Susan's life was full of generosity and caregiving. She was devoted to the Church and to her family, welcomed each of her children's spouses, and cherished her 12 grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mark Allan Gons; three children and spouses, Michelle and Alan Grover Jr., Melissa and Bryan McKinnon, and Jordan and Lissa (Tovar) Gons; 11 grandchildren; and four siblings.

Though our hearts ache, we do not grieve as those who have no hope. She joins her three beloved parents and her first granddaughter, Kali Grover, in eternity with Jesus, who has granted her the fullness of life.

Please join the family for a service celebrating Susan's life at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2023, at Gateway Church, 620 North Main Street, Findlay, Ohio, 45840. Visitation with the family will precede the service from 4-6 p.m. at the church.
