Sally Rice Obituary

Sally Ann Rice

Sally Ann Rice, 76, of Findlay, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Born September 20, 1948, in Findlay, she was the cherished daughter of the late Harry and Norma Horner.

Sally is survived by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 55 years, Steven Rice. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. She is also survived by her three daughters, Bethany (and the late John) Zazzaro, Lynnette Rice, and Heather (Claus) Nielsen; her four grandchildren, Casey and Colin Zazzaro and Christian and Chloe Nielsen; her brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Jeanette Horner; and her sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Dan Baldwin; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A proud graduate of Findlay High School, Sally devoted her life to caring for others. As a stay-at-home mother, she lovingly raised her children and opened her heart and home to many, babysitting countless children over the years. She was a nurturing presence and a steady support to those around her, including her grandparents and her and Steven's parents, whom she cared for in their final days with grace and compassion.

Sally was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church, where she served on several committees, taught Sunday School and Bible School, and led both the children's choir and Christmas plays. Sally was a devoted Christian and spread the word of God to many. She is and will always be a true example of what it means to be a Christian.

Sally's unconditional love will be greatly missed. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the children she helped raise, and the many lives she touched with her gentle spirit. She will now forever be our guardian angel.

We want to thank everyone from Bridge Home Health and Hospice, and especially her nurse, India, and aide, Kaitlyn. Their care and love supported her and her family.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025, at First Lutheran Church, Findlay, with the Rev. Brother Timothy Tucker O'Leary officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

Memorial contribu-tions may be directed towards the Church or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.

Sally will forever be remembered as "mom" to me. I have fond memories of her and the entire Rice family while growing up, during junior high and high school years. She was wonderful and spoiled us bratty teenage girls. She also directed us in " Christian Sisters in Song" choir at First Lutheran Church. Those were such fun days and she was a big part of that! Our heartfelt condolences to Steve, Bethany, Lynnette, Heather and their families. We love you all so much! "Mom" will be missed but never forgotten.
