Bernice Forney-Myers

Bernice Forney-Myers, 93, of Leipsic, formerly of Findlay, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at The Meadows of Ottawa.

Bernice was born December 21, 1932, in McComb, to the late Carl and Mildred (Miller) Gorrell. She married Charles Forney, June 3, 1951, and he preceded her in death January 1, 1994. She then married Floyd Myers, February 10, 1996, and he also preceded her in death January 22, 1998. Bernice is survived by her daughter, Jill (Don) Diller of Leipsic; a daughter-in-law, Vickie (Steve) Meyer of Leipsic; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Langhals, Jodi (Kevin) Taylor, Anna (Jason) Moore, Derek Diller, Adam (Heidi) Forney, Kyle Forney, Cory (Victoria) Forney, Nathan (Vidhya Anantharkrish) Myers, Andrea (Sven Kahns) Myers, Amber (Justin) Butler, and Ryan (Amanda) Harmon; 20 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; two great-great-grandchildren, with one the way; and stepchildren, Rodney Myers and Diane (Tom) Harmon.

Bernice was also preceded in death by her sons, Kevin Forney and Steve Forney; grandson, Eric Diller; great-granddaughter, Emma Niese; great-grandsons, Steve and Chad Myers; stepson, John Myers; brothers, Wayne and Max Gorrell; and a special friend, Keith Rader.

Bernice was a member of McComb Church of Christ, Christian Workers at the church, American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 3 of Findlay, VFW Auxiliary of McComb, and Senior Center in Findlay. Bernice was a telephone operator for Leipsic Phone Company for a number of years. She worked at Pandora-Gilboa Middle School Cafeteria. Bernice enjoyed dancing, especially the Polka, going fishing and camping at Lake Erie. Bernice also enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson, Missouri; on cruises to Alaska and Hawaii; and to Florida. Beside being a homemaker, Bernice helped with the farm work. Bernice loved her family dearly; she truly enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities. Bernice had a heart of gold and would help anyone in a time of need.

Visitation for Bernice will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026, at McComb Church of Christ, 400 Ackerly Dr., McComb, Ohio 45840. Bernice's Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2026, at the church, with Pastor Rick Broughton officiating. Interment will follow at Center Cemetery, Leipsic.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bernice's honor to Putnam County Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
