Rita Benroth Obituary
Rita Jane Benroth, 65, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at her residence.
Jane was born Sept. 19, 1957, in Fostoria, to Harry F. and Margaret M. (Ostrander) Swartz. She married Scott Benroth on July 13, 1990, and he preceded her in death May 21, 2020.
Jane graduated from Arcadia High School in 1975. She was a loving mother and homemaker with a big heart that would do anything or give anything to someone who needed it. Jane was glad to have experienced all the jobs she had, especially when she was driving limousine. She loved gardening, baking, celebrations, cats, and especially spending time with her family.
Rita's survivors include her father, Harry F. Swartz of Fostoria; four children, Heather (Jeremy) Jarrell of Findlay, Ricky (Jessica Davis) Brown of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Trina Brown of Findlay, and Felicia Bliss of Bluffton; 12 grandchildren, Alexander, Wesley, Ashton, Wylee, Alex, Brynn, Lana, Austin, Owen, Jasmine, Samantha, and Rylan; four great-grandchildren, Oliver, Isla, Bella, and Scarlet; brother, Bill Swartz of Fostoria; and four sisters, Diana (Mike) Mock of Findlay, Luci (Larry) Runion of Fostoria, Laura Swartz of Bluffton, and Ginny (Gary) Shinew of Cygnet.
Jane was also preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Swartz; brother, Sonny Swartz; sister, Jacquie Newman; and brother-in-law, Bill Newman.
Jane's services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Jerry Kellogg will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
