Ricky L. "Rick" Hendricks

Ricky Lee "Rick" Hendricks, 61, of Carey, passed away Saturday, April 11,2026.

Rick was born June 7, 1964, in Findlay, to the late Leland "Buddy" and Barbara (Weaver) Hendricks. He married the love of his life, Tina Kimble, July 11, 1987, and she survives. Also surviving are his two daughters, Shania (Zachery Marquart) Hendricks and Shyanne Hendricks; siblings, Jeff Hendricks, Roger Hendricks and Karen (Gary) Frey; sister-in-law, Chris Hendricks; a host of nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Remmington.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary Hendricks.

Rick was a 1982 graduate of Sycamore Mohawk High School and then attended Owens Community College, where he earned his associate's degree in the law enforcement program. Rick worked at Whirlpool in Findlay, retiring in June of 2025 after 40 years of service. Rick was involved with the Upper Sandusky Police Auxiliary program and then became very active with the Wyandot County Sheriff's Auxiliary program. Rick had a deep love for the outdoors, where he felt most at home. Whether he was hunting, fishing, trapping beaver, or racing his three-wheeler, he found joy in the simple, rugged moments that brought him closer to nature. Those who knew him best could always count on finding him outside, doing what he loved and living life to the fullest.

He was a hardworking man who took pride in everything he did, but he never let life get too serious. Rick had a natural way of making people laugh, always ready with a joke or a playful comment that could lighten any room. He enjoyed spending time playing poker and sharing stories, often turning ordinary moments into lasting memories.

More than anything, Rick's heart belonged to his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was gathered around the table, out on an adventure, or simply enjoying each other's company. His love for his family was evident in all he did, and they were truly the center of his world.

Visitation for Rick will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey. Rick's Funeral Service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2026, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Merrill, OFM Conv, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Salem Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rick's honor to the Wyandot County Sheriff Auxiliary program or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
