Richard Reinhart Obituary

Richard F. "Dick" Reinhart

Richard F. "Dick" Reinhart, 81, of Findlay, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.

He was born September 3, 1944, in Fostoria, to the late Harold C. and Mae (Kinn) Reinhart.

Surviving is a brother, Gerald J. (Leona) Reinhart, Fostoria; brother-in-law, Clifford E. Young; nieces and nephews, Trina (Kevin) Sullenberger, Rex Reinhart, Julie Daniels, Ryan (Terri) Reinhart, Randy (Deb) Young, Gena Young, and Jessica (Jon) Faber; and many great-nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, William C. (Lola) Reinhart and a sister, Judith A. Young.

A devoted uncle, loyal friend, and beloved member of his community, he lived a life centered on family, kindness, and genuine connection with others. For 50 years, he was a dedicated employee of Great Scot grocery stores, beginning as a bag boy in his teenage years and steadily working his way into management. Gifted with an easy smile and a remarkable memory, he had a way of remembering everyone he met and making each conversation feel meaningful.

Outside of work, he was a lifelong car enthusiast. He loved attending car shows, browsing car lots to check out the latest features, and admiring the craftsmanship of classic vehicles. Muscle cars held a special place in his heart-especially the '57 Chevy and Corvettes-and he took great pride in keeping his own F-150 in top condition. He had a quiet passion for music. Over the years, he built a collection of records spanning nearly every genre imaginable.

He was also known for his love of collecting, especially toy trucks, cars, tractors, and novelty items. He had a quiet appreciation for music and, over the years, built a record collection of various artists and genres. He was famous for his skills at the claw machine, often winning stuffed animals for his nieces and nephews with ease.

Family was the center of his world. To know him was to love him. He had a remarkable way of making every niece, nephew, great-niece, and great-nephew feel seen and valued for exactly who they were. He made it a point to be present for their milestones, celebrations, and everyday moments. More than anything, he made sure the people in his life knew they were loved. Through small gestures, thoughtful gifts, and his steady presence, he created a legacy of warmth and belonging that will live on in the hearts of his family.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830, where a Vigil will take place at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Earlier today

We were so very saddened to learn of Dick´s passing. He was a tremendous, dedicated associate to the Fresh Encounter family of stores. His kind, quiet leadership made him one of our best store managers. He was always quick with a smile and a good conversation, and we enjoyed our friendship with him. We are out of state and unable to attend his service, but please accept our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy.
