Mike Foster

Mike Foster, 84, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born August 13, 1941, the son of Ed and Nan Foster. In 1967, Mike married the love of his life, Midge Tebbe, who survives him. Together, they shared nearly 60 years of marriage filled with fun, adventure, travel, and many joyful days at Findlay Country Club.

Mike and Midge raised three children, Tina Foster of Findlay, Joe (Jill) Foster of Powell, and Sarah (Don) Bledsoe, of Findlay. They were blessed with six grandchildren, Nic Stacy, Christi Bassler, Katy Lortz, Stephen Staschiak, Sam Staschiak, and Abby Foster; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mike was also honored to serve as a godfather to many.

A devoted and supportive father, Mike took great interest in his children's education and activities. As a dedicated sports parent, he attended countless swim meets and track events across the country. An early adopter of technology, Mike even built one of the first digital stopwatches, allowing him to time athletes' events with precision, long before "tech guys" were considered cool.

Mike graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in mechanical engineering, earned a master's degree in engineering from University of Dayton, and became a certified professional engineer. He enjoyed a successful 40-year career with Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, holding several leadership roles in manufacturing. Some of his fondest professional memories were serving as the plant engineer at the Findlay facility and traveling to Cooper's international factories.

Believing deeply in young people's potential, Mike encouraged many to pursue education and better themselves. He served as a mentor to numerous aspiring engineers, many of whom followed in his footsteps. His commitment to service extended to the community as well-he served on the boards of Open Arms and Findlay Country Club, and he and Midge opened their home to two beloved adopted cats.

A determined and spirited man, Mike partnered with Southern Care Hospice with the good-natured goal of setting a record for the longest time in the program. Always thinking of how he could continue helping others, he donated his body to THE Ohio State University Medical Center.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Louie Foster Humane Society Fund, care of The Hancock County Community Foundation.

A celebration of Mike's life will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Findlay Country Club on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Arrangements have been entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
