Paul V. Wymer

Paul V. Wymer, 88, of Upper Sandusky, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024, at Westbrook Assisted Living. He was born July 24, 1936, in North Baltimore to the late Forest and Ethel (Meyer) Wymer. He married Barbara Cooper on Aug. 11, 1957, at First Methodist Church, North Baltimore and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

He is also survived by a son, Nathan (Beth) Wymer, Columbus; a grandson, Zachary; a son-in-law, Kevin Duffey, St. Helena, California; a sister, Naomi Moore; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Stockwell, both of North Baltimore; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Natalie Wymer; brother, Robert Wymer; and sisters, Betty Newcomer, Alice Hough and Barbara Tornberg.

Paul graduated from North Baltimore High School and attended Marion Technical College.

He was a United States Army Veteran who served from 1955 to 1957 and a 50-year member of Trinity Church of Christ.

He was a former meat cutter at IGA Grocery and a supervisor at Westinghouse, both of Upper Sandusky and retired from Marion County Department of Human Services. Paul was elected to serve on Upper Sandusky City Council and Upper Sandusky Zoning Board and was a member of AMVETS 777.

He collected political buttons and other memorabilia. He especially enjoyed the Saturday auctions to add old tin toys or die-cast cars to his collection. Paul had a very strong work ethic that he passed on to his children. He was exceptionally proud of them and their success in the career that they chose. Paul was very meticulous about his lawn and the beautification of flowers on his property.

A private graveside service was conducted.
