Nelson Summit Obituary
Nelson E. Summit, 78, of Fostoria, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at this residence.
Nelson was born June 17, 1946, in Bucyrus to the late Ira and Evelyn (Veith) Summit. He married Kathy Huffman, and they were divorced. He then married Karen McCombs on August 31, 1978, and she preceded him in death January 18, 2017. Nelson is survived by his children, Nathan Summit, Nicole (Mark) Price, Karson Summit and Laura (Matt) Myers; grandchildren, Treg Price, Faith Price, Karlie Summit, Hunter Summit and Michael Cox; siblings, Paul (Helen) Summit, Dave (Joyce) Summit and Richard (Kathy) Summit; and a special friend, Joyce Penwell.
Nelson was a 1964 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and was the first class in the new school. Nelson worked several jobs within municipal government for 20 years. Then, he worked for eight years with De's LP Gas, where he began his career as a delivery driver and worked his way up to branch manager. After that, Nelson went to work for Firelands Electric Co-Op in New London as a warehouse manager. In 2018, Nelson went to work for Wolff Bros. Supply as a part-time employee in the warehouse. Nelson served in the Ohio National Guard and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bradner, where he loved playing on the dart ball team.
Visitation for Nelson will be from 10 a.m. until time of his Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, Ohio 43316, Pastor Melaine Haack, officiating. Burial is private at Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Memorial contribu-tions may be made in Nelson's honor to St. James Lutheran Church, 451 Caldwell St., Bradner, Ohio 43406.

A man of great heart, who made a real and positive contribution to many lives through his work in Clyde, Ohio. He was a brave man who fought against the odds and he won. Thanks for so many things, Nelson. Rest in peace.
