Mary Glaser Obituary
Mary Louise Glaser, 95, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, in Ottawa, Ohio.
She was born Dec. 21, 1928, in Wharton, to John and Lucille (Hunter) Vogel.
After graduating from Wharton High School, Mary Lou graduated from Tiffin Business School. She spent much of her professional career working for Hancock Brick and Tile and Bennett's Furniture. She was also part owner of Glaser Insurance. She wed Marvin Glaser on Feb. 17, 1952, and they shared almost 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2012.
Mary Lou enjoyed a variety of activities including reading, solving crosswords, playing bridge, and cultivating tomatoes and flowers. She also took great pleasure in planning and preparing meals for gatherings with her friends and family.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughters, Susan (Steve) Heyne of Chelsea, Michigan, and Jane (David) Benroth of McComb; son, Thomas (Joyce) Glaser of Westerville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; an infant daughter; and brother, William Vogel.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2024, until the time of Mary Lou's memorial service at 12 p.m. at Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 S. Park Dr., McComb, Ohio, 45858. After the service, she will be laid to rest at McComb Union Cemetery.
In honor of her love for the library, memorial contributions can be made to McComb Library.
