Judith Karcher Obituary

Judith C. "Judy" Karcher

Judith C. "Judy" Karcher, 84, of Findlay, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at Blanchard Valley Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born Oct. 3, 1939, in Bloomdale, to Guy F. and Blanche (Osborne) Babcock.

Judy is survived by two children, David E. Karcher (Tonita) of Findlay and Amy J. Iliff (Ray) of Findlay; sister, Patricia A. Child of South Carolina; sister-in-law, Mary Corbin of Findlay; grandchildren, Cardon (Mindy) Rozelle, Aaron (Tayler Varner) Rozelle, Austin (Lindsay) Rozelle, Madalyn Karcher (fiancé Bradley Goforth), Clay (Kelsey) Iliff, Anna (Johnston) Baird, Samuel (Olivia) Iliff, and Sara (Caleb) Peltier; and great-grandchildren, Ayden Rozelle, Alexandria Rozelle, Evelynn Rozelle, Logan Rozelle, Jameson Baird, Eden Iliff, and Charlotte Peltier.

She married Clair E Karcher, her high school sweetheart, on Nov. 14, 1959, and had 56 wonderful years together where they raised two children. He preceded her in death Dec. 3, 2015. They enjoyed many years going to sporting events, watching their children, and then grandchildren play. She loved the excitement of the bells and lights at the casinos and spending winters in Florida with the love of her life and many friends. They traveled and played golf together with their many friends and were involved in many activities with their high school classmates. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was a wonderful baker and often helped her grandkids with learning how to make their favorite desserts. Judy loved her music and sang all the time. After her husband passed, she continued to go to lunch with her class mates, playing Mahjong and cards with her friends and going on trips with her friends.

She worked as a hairdresser and retired March 19, 1998, as office manager for Dr. David G. Goodman, DDS. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority (over 30 years) and Fostoria Country Club. Judith was also a breast cancer survivor.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the caregivers and physicians, PA-C Jackie Boucher Stewart, Dr. James Bailey, Dr. Frank Cosiano, Dr. Sharon Cole, all of the staff at The Heritage, Home Healthcare workers and Hospice staff, and nursing staff of the ICU unit at Blanchard Valley Hospital that took such good care of her. We are forever grateful for all of your kindness.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky Street, Findlay. Judy's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

My condolences to Judy's family.
I grew up, living next to Judy and Claire on Ash Ave. I baby sat for David and Amy. Judy was a wonderful person and will be missed by all that loved and cared about her!
