Gary Hare Obituary

Gary Ronald "GareBear" Hare

Gary Ronald Hare passed into God's glory Thursday, January 29, 2026. Born September 6, 1934, to James and Victoria Hare, he was raised in the small town of North Manchester, Indiana. He married Mary Ann Warnecke, August 30, 1958, and is now reunited with her in God's grace. Surviving are their children, Karen Greenberg (Texas) and Mark Hare (Michigan); grandchildren, Alex Hare (Michigan), Matt Gamble (Texas), and Kyle Gamble (Kansas); sister, Becky (Indiana); and sister, Joan (Florida).

Gary graduated from International Business College of Fort Wayne, Indiana, served two years with the Army, and then began a 30-year career at Ohio Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio, transferring to Houston, Texas, in 1983. He and Mary Ann retired a few years later.

Gary enjoyed golfing and bowling and took pride in providing his children with opportunities that he never had. He and Mary Ann enjoyed playing bridge in the Marathon league and euchre, and solo with family. His retirement years were busy with golfing, grandchildren's sports, musical concerts, graduations and many trips to visit family in Indiana, Michigan and Florida. Mary Ann and Gary were members of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Cypress.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Klein Funeral Home, Tomball, Texas, followed by a private burial at Houston National Cemetery Monday.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Alzheimer's Association at https://events.alz.org/fundraisers/garyhare/gary-hare.
