Frances Everett Latta
Frances Everett Latta, 91, of McComb, passed Saturday, April 19, 2025.
Everett was born April 17, 1934, in McComb to the late Ernest and Ruth (Rader) Latta. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Collingwood, on July 5, 1953, and she survives. Also surviving are his two sons, Charles Latta and Joe (Bonny) Latta both of McComb; grandchildren, Andy (Cari) Latta, Aaron (Sarah) Latta, Nick (Tracy) Latta, Ashley (Jon) Brown and Alexa (Mike) Mrohen; son-in-law, Glenn Vowell; two stepgrandchildren, Jeff (Erika) Oates and Vicki Catalano; ten great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Vowell; and siblings, Lucy, Florence, Walter, and Wayne.
Everett enjoys giving $2.00 to his grandkids and great-grandchildren, a tradition he started over 40 years ago.
Everett started working at the Clover Farm store at the age of 12. He graduated from McComb High School in 1952. Everett was the plant manager of McComb Dairy, owned the Ashland oil route, and was co-owner of the laundromat and car wash in McComb. Everett was in sales his entire life. He held a real estate license for over 50 years. Everett served the McComb community in many facets, including serving on Village council, a McComb softball commissioner and slow pitch umpire, was a 45-plus year member of McComb Lions Club, serving three terms as president, being on the board of directors, secretary and many other positions. With the Lions Club, Everett also co-chaired "Across America for Sight First" and the Lions Club TV auctions. In 1999, Everett had the distinct privilege of being name the McComb Citizen of the Year. At the age of 32, while serving on the board of the Youth for Christ, he accepted Christ as his Savior. Everett was a faithful member of McComb Methodist Church, where previously serving as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Everett co-chaired many different Life Time Achievement awards, including for Mr. Myer, former Congressman Delbert Latta, Rick Little Lifetime Achievement Banquet, and Cookie Festival, in which Everett helped start the first community church service.
Visitation for Everett will be from 11 a.m. until time of his Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at McComb Methodist Church, 204 High St., McComb, Ohio 45858, Pastor Doug Kendrick, officiating. Interment will follow at McComb Union Cemetery. Everett's services will be livestreamed on Snyder Funeral Home, Stombaugh-Batton Chapel's Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Everett's honor to McComb Methodist Church, 204 High St., McComb, Ohio 45858.
