Donald Stansloski Obituary

Donald Wayne Stansloski

Dr. Donald W. Stansloski passed quietly in his sleep Friday, March 7, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia; daughter, Lynn and husband James Miller of Ann Arbor, Michigan; daughter, Lee and husband Theodore Rose of Xenia; son, Mitchell and wife Leslie Arnold of Fort Collins, Colorado; son, Steven and wife Teresa of Findlay; eight grandchildren and their spouses; and five great-grandchildren. Don is also survived by three brothers; two sisters; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Don was born June 22, 1939, in Big Rapids, Michigan.

Don received his bachelor of pharmacy from Ferris State University (then Ferris Institute) in 1961. He then received his master's and doctorate of pharmacy from University of Nebraska and taught there until 1972. He continued teaching at Ohio Northern University, Ada, until his retirement in 1995. He was a Fulbright Scholar and taught at University of Harare, Zimbabwe, in 1984. In 2004, he joined The University of Findlay, Findlay, as the founding dean of the new College of Pharmacy. He retired from the position as a Dean Emeritus. His latest work was with Rural Health Group of Northeast Michigan, doing research and analysis of the causes of problems and discrepancies in the health systems of northern Michigan.

Over the years, he has authored and co-authored several pharmacy and healthcare books.

He loved sailing. He sailed on inland lakes, Lake Erie, Lake Huron, Lake Superior, and with his son in the Caribbean. He also was an avid reader. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the house on Cedar Lake in Greenbush, Michigan.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, followed by an open house from 2-4 p.m. at Winebrenner Auditorium at The University of Findlay, 1000 N. Main St., Findlay, Ohio 45840.
