Carolyn Alge Obituary
Carolyn E. Alge, 95, of Arlington, died at 2:54 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Arlington.
She was born March 13, 1928, in McComb, to William Arby and Laura (Moats) Schaade. She married Kenneth E. Alge on Sept. 25, 1949, and he preceded her in death Feb. 9, 2009.
Carolyn is survived by two daughters, Beth (Tom) Launder of Williamstown and Cindy Mengert of Fostoria; grandchildren, Nichole Alge, Heather (Bill) Eigel, Jason (Amanda) Alge, and Dustin (Amber) Mengert; great-grandchildren, Evan Cohee, Jaclynn Eigel, Wade Eigel, Nathan Alge, Andrew Alge, Lydia Alge, Austin Mengert, Levi Crawford, and Logan Crawford; and daughter-in-law, Patty Neal of Mt. Blanchard.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Jeffery Alge and Randy Alge; and brother, Guy Schaade.
She was a proud 1946 graduate of McComb High School and moved into Findlay and lived with her aunt, Ruth Lininger, in Findlay, where she ran the elevator at Pattersons. She retired as a Head Start teacher in Findlay and Ada with the Community Action Commission and office assistant for Hancock County Agricultural Society after over 25 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church and enjoyed puzzles, reading, working with ceramics, crocheting, and loved her granddogs.
Carolyn's graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at Riverview Cemetery with Pastor Brett Kelly officiating. There will be a short visitation at the graveside just prior to the graveside service.
CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington, is handling arrangements.
Memorials may be given to Hancock County Agricultural Society and online condolences are welcomed at www.coldrencrates.com.

My deepest sympathy on your loss. Carolyn and I may have been the last two members of the McComb Class of l946. As is the custom, a memorial in Carolyn's name has been sent to the McComb Public Library from the McComb High School Class of 1946. Another proud 1946 graduate of McComb.
