Brian Ellerbrock Obituary

Brian D. Ellerbrock

Brian D. Ellerbrock, 51, of Leipsic, succumbed to his battle with cancer Thursday, July 27, 2023.

He was born Aug. 26, 1971, in Lima, to Donald and Rosalind Ellerbrock (Carpenter). He was a 1989 graduate of Miller City-New Cleveland High School and 1993 graduate of University of Toledo. He married his sweetheart, Carrie Pier, on Oct. 15, 1999. Brian worked as a salesman for Verhoff Machine & Welding Inc. for 19 years. In his free time, he enjoyed running, hiking, coaching Little League, teaching King's Kids, acting in skits and plays, and taught VBS. He was a Cub Scout and Lifewise leader, Deacon, Fresh Encounter Woods board member, and was a homeschool teacher.

He was involved in the men's group at Dupont Church of the Brethren, loved gardening, and also enjoyed visiting historical sites. As a lifetime Detroit Tigers fan, he earned the nickname "Tiger" during Little League. He was affectionately called "Shifter" by his friends and family, a nickname given by his big brothers on the farm for sitting in the middle of the truck where he was the gear shifter. Friends and family will remember him as an individual who loved sharing the word of the Lord.

Brian leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Carrie Ellerbrock; 11 children, Donald, stationed in Virginia with U.S. Navy, Josiah (Elena Gallina) stationed in Italy with U.S. Army, Abigail, an RN in Leipsic, Samuel, an Army National Guard & Ohio State student, Philip, a student at UNOH, Miriam, a student at MCNC HS, Elizabeth, a student at MCNC HS, and four homeschooled, Joanna, Gloria, John, and Benjamin; siblings, Steven (Linda Cox), Sharon (Terry) Maas, David (Ruth), Robert, Julia (Tony) Roth, and Lynn Ellerbrock; and nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Rosalind Ellerbrock; and brother, Scott Ellerbrock.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, and 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, until the time of Brian's funeral at 11 a.m. at Dupont Church of the Brethren, 105 Cedar Street, Dupont, Ohio, 45837. Pastor Solomon Okang will be officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Dupont. Flowers may be delivered to the church from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Lifewise Continental or the church in honor of Brian.

Brian was a godly man. He cared deeply for his family. He considered others as more important than himself. He was an every day hero for so many reasons! His children are a reflection of his character and are lights in the world.
