Violet Jeannine Kinsey
Violet "Jeannine" Kinsey, 88, of Carey, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, surrounded by those she loved.
Jeannine was born Dec. 11, 1935, in Mt. Gilead, to Ray and Bertha (Skinner) Potts. She married the love of her life, James E. Kinsey, on April 18, 1972, in Mt. Gilead, and he survives in Carey.
Jeannie is also survived by her children, April Volz of Hamilton and Chris (Vicki) McAfee of Fremont; grandchildren, Nikki Volz, Joshua (Brittany) McAfee, and Jacob McAfee; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Volz, Shirlyn Asher, and Carson McAfee; and several loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jim Potts and Lois Weber; and beloved canine companion, Gus.
Jeannine was a 1953 graduate of Mt. Gilead High School. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Tiffin. Jeannine worked for 18 years at Wyandot County Nursing Home in the dietary department and worked closely with her husband, Jim, as a bookkeeper for their business, Jim's Electric. Jeannine enjoyed traveling the United States with Jim and looking forward to her weekly visits to the beautician. More than anything, Jeannine loved spending time with her family. Jeannine had a heart of gold and will be missed by all that knew her.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2024, until the time of Jeannie's celebration of life service at 3 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, Ohio, 43316, with Elder Blaine Crawford officiating. The family requests that all guests wear casual attire.
