Verna M. "Peggy" Meyers, 92, of Bellevue, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Extended Family Assisted Living in Bellevue. She was born March 7, 1932, in Clyde, the daughter of George and Alma (Smith) Rogers.

Verna was a homemaker while her children were at home but later worked at GE Lamp Plant in Bellevue until its closing. She enjoyed baking, garage sales, and flea markets, as well as playing cards and going to the casino. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She was a member of Eagles Auxiliary.

Verna married Ralph W. Meyers on September 30, 1950, at Sorrowful Mother Shrine; he preceded her in death in 1997.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (John) Schaffer of Beverly Hills, Michigan; nine grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by daughters, Linda McCarthy and Annette Meyers; grandson, Joseph Schaffer; and siblings: Patricia, Kathryn, Mary Lou, George, Richard, David, and Donald; and son-in-law, Walt Johnston.

A funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
