Timothy Kennedy Obituary

Timothy Douglas Kennedy

Timothy Douglas Kennedy, 40, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes Sunday, April 13, 2025, at his home in Findlay.

Tim was born September 15, 1984, in Hamilton, spending his early childhood in Stewartstown, Pennsylvania; elementary age in Mathews, Virginia; and finally settling in Findlay in 1995. Tim was a graduate of Findlay High School class of 2003 and received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Bowling Green State University.

Tim's accounting career was spent in the hospitality industry, which began in Findlay and went on to include venturesome and bold locations like Omaha, Nebraska; New York, New York; Lana'i, Hawaii; and Honolulu, Hawaii. He appreciated fresh experiences, learning about different cultures, and taking on professional challenges.

Tim's interests growing up included playing sports, caring for pets, and exploring the rural outdoors. Later in high school, he was an active drummer in the FFE show choir and the Trojan marching band. He treasured his own independence yet always tried to keep up with his two older brothers.

Tim will be remembered by his family and friends as greatly appreciating their company, even though he had trouble admitting it in the moment. He was known for having a dry sense of humor, often including a witty response. He was the wrestling buddy to his young nieces and nephews and the uncle who could step in whenever needed. His varied interests included golf, NASCAR racing, politics, German beer, lifting weights, and finding a beach with an ocean view. While gone too soon, his journey and aspirations will live on in the thoughts and memories of his loved ones.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Steven Kennedy of Findlay; and grandparents, John and Rosemary (Rieger) Kennedy, Paul Keller, and Robert Lipinski.

He is survived by his mother, Debra (Elzay) Kennedy of Findlay; and brothers, John Kennedy of Chicago and David Kennedy of Columbus. Also survived by his grandmother, Mardell (Shaffer) Keller of Swanton; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. His surviving nieces and nephews are Avery Lyle, Charles and Josephine Kennedy of Columbus, and Vivian Kennedy of Chicago.

Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Ave in Findlay. There will be a visitation preceding the service from 12-1 p.m. for those who wish to pay their respects to Tim and his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Tim's memory be made to American Diabetes Association.

The Fenberg Family

April 16, 2025

Our entire family is shocked and saddened by the loss of one of our former little league players, neighbor, and just a wonderful young man. Tim was our (National Lime and Stone's) first overall draft pick in 1996, playing short stop, our ace on the mound, and the 1997 team MVP. We remember how excited and happy we were to draft him. We then found out he lived down the street on Glendale Ave. He was a wonderful kid, freckle faced and always smiling. It was a special time, when two brothers and their college buddies coached a litttle league team without parents on the staff, making sure everyone played and more importantly, had fun and made lifelong memories. This one is very, very tough. Godspeed Tim. Until we see you again. You will be missed.
