Theodore "Ted" King

Theodore "Ted" King, 83, of rural Upper Sandusky, passed away peacefully at 10:31 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, at his residence with family by his side.

Ted was born July 8, 1940, in Knot County, Kentucky, the son of Theodore and Patsy (Slone) King. He married Myrtle L. Slone on Feb. 26, 1966, in Virginia, and she survives.

Ted will be sadly missed by his daughters, Tammy Browning of Sycamore and Cathy King of McCutchenville; two grandchildren, Jay King and Kendal Browning; and many nieces and nephews. Ted was blessed with a bonus daughter, Michele Snyder and bonus granddaughter, Angela Snyder.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Pearly Mae Hall.

Ted worked at Union Carbide in Fostoria for 30 years. Ted's Christian life began some 50 years ago when he joined First Freewill Baptist Church in Carey. He loved his family and church family.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at First Freewill Baptist Church, north of Carey.

Ted's funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, at the church with Pastor Sid Ramey officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Sycamore.

In lieu of flowers, chimes, rocks, and throws, memorial contributions may be made to First Freewill Baptist Church or Wyandot Memorial Hospital Hospice and sent to the funeral home.
