Sarah Hanson-Lindabury Obituary
Dr. Sarah "Sally" Hanson-Lindabury, 69, of Findlay, passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 23, 1954, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Harrison and Margaret Hanson, who preceded her in death. She married Frederick L. Lindabury on May 14, 1983, in Ada, and he also preceded her in death.
Sarah was a 1972 graduate of Marian High School in Birmingham, Michigan. She graduated from University of South Florida in 1978 with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Master's in Rehabilitative Counseling in 1981. She completed her PhD work at University of Toledo in Counselor Education and Supervision in 2007. Dr. Sarah was a Licensed Independent Clinical Counselor and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor and was invested in the field of Behavior Health Services for 45 years. It was one of her life's passions to provide support, guidance, and respect for individuals in their hour of need, working in both residential and outpatient addictions care. She touched the lives of many over the course of her career working at ACTS: Alcohol Community Treatment Services, Division of Drug and Alcohol Abuse: Allen County Health Department, The Lincoln Center, Hardin County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center, W.O.R.T.H Center, Family Resource Center, and Century Health. Later in her career, Dr. Sarah worked in private practice focusing on family and youth treatment. Sarah's other passion in life was her artwork. She loved painting, design, and crafting, as well as sharing her passion for art with others, especially young people.
Sarah's survivors include her daughter, J. Kate (Ford) Mennel of Findlay; sister, Katherine Hanson of Bradenton, Florida; sister, Patricia Hanson of Englewood, Florida; niece, Nicole Rentzel of Grand Haven, Michigan; grandson, Fredrick Mennel of Findlay; and many beloved cousins and friends.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky St., Findlay, Ohio, 45840.
Sarah's funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to FOCUS Wellness and Recovery Center of Findlay or Bless Up and Bloom of Findlay.

I´m sorry for your family´s loss. Sarah was so incredibly proud of you, Kate, and found a renewed joy for living with the birth of precious Freddy. Sarah was in our book club, The Lively Litwits, for a number of years. I especially remember the Mad Hatter´s Tea Party she hosted - complete with costumes! Sarah will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

I´m so sad but I know that she is so happy to be reunited with Fred, I lost a great friend in Sarah aka Aunt Sally as my kids call her. She always treated them as her family making them photo albums and trinkets and keepsakes. We will treasure absolutely everything she taught us about life and then some. So long to you friend, I loved our friendship.
