It is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of Elizabeth "Betty" L. Hiller. Betty passed away on December 19, 2025, in McHenry, IL. Betty was born in Johnsburg, IL to Joseph and Geraldine Hiller (nee Engels) on October 1, 1941.
Betty graduated from McHenry Highschool in 1959. Her first job outside the family store was working at Prem Magnetics in Johnsburg for several years. After leaving there, she went to work at St. John's Catholic Church as a receptionist. After retiring from St. Johns, she spent the free time she had with special friends, Vi and Marlene. She so enjoyed the outings they shared. She always enjoyed bowling in her younger years. As she got older, she was happy gardening and took an interest in reading.
Betty was a person of faith and family. She spent most of her time as the resident caretaker for all ages at the Hiller house. Nieces and nephews have great memories of her, whether it was babysitting or taking her along on vacation.
Betty lived her entire life in the family home until moving the last few months to assisted living.
She was a great "Big sister" and had a heart to comfort all.
She is survived by her siblings, Carol (Tim) Larsen, Mary Dodge and David (Tina) Hiller and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Gerri; her brothers: Joe, Bob and John Hiller; her sister-in-law: Christine Hiller; and her brother-in-law: Michael Dodge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Betty's name to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or School.
A Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 AM.
