Ronald Kemerley Obituary

Ronald Lewis Kemerley

Ronald Lewis Kemerley died Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center surrounded by his family.

He was born May 14, 1947, in Findlay, to Everett and Neva (Rettig) Kemerley. He married Linda (Weber) Kemerly on Aug. 20, 1970, and she preceded him in death Aug. 16, 1980. They had two sons, Jason of Arlington and James (Jessica) of Mt. Blanchard. He has a granddaughter, Jamie, who he adored and loved spending time with her and watching her volleyball and softball games.

He married Christine (Krock) Kemerly on Feb. 13, 1982, and she adopted and raised Jason and James as her own sons.

He is also survived by his sister, Joyce (Tom) Bosse of Loveland, Colorado; brother, Jan (Linda, deceased) Kemerley of Wrightstown, New Jersey; and sister-in-law, Pat (twin brother Don, deceased) Kemerley of West Elkton. He will be greatly missed by his family, the special Beaschler family, church friends, nieces, nephews, and many dear cousins.

Ron retired in 2006 from CSX after being a very faithful employee for 42 years. He served in U.S. Air Force from 1965-1969. He trained in Mississippi and Kansas and was stationed in Thailand, Japan, and Korea.

He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Jenera, where he served in many positions on the church council, sang in the choir, played in the hand bell choir, played dart ball, and helped to prepare and serve many meals at the church. He loved to play cards and after retirement, traveled with family and friends to Florida and Tennessee many times. He loved spending time with family at holiday gatherings and getting in a good card game.

Ron was a 1965 graduate of Arlington High School. He was a member of Arlington Lions Club for over 30 years and worked at many basketball and football games. He was an avid reader.

Ron's funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery where Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will present full military rites.

The family asks for all attending visitation and Ron's funeral to please wear casual clothing.

Memorials can be made to St. Paul Building Fund, St. Paul Music Fund, or Bridge Hospice in his memory.

Enjoyed working with Ron in 4-H on paper drives, singing in the Junior Choir at church. He was always smiling, a very positive person, fun to be around. To all family members you have our sympathy.

There are many good memories of time spent with Ron. When we were young we did lots of daring things.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all everyone.
