Rodney Jason Bowers

Rodney Jason Bowers, 48, of Carey, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

He was born Oct. 25, 1975, in Lima, the son of Ray W. and Pamela (Bookwalter) Bowers, who survive in Arlington. He married Pamela D. Ford on March 9, 2002, and she survives in Carey.

Rodney's survivors also include his children, Ward Michael Bowers, Paige Ann Bowers, and Madelynn Dawn Bowers, all of Carey; siblings, Eric (Angie) Bowers of Defiance and Jarrod Bowers of Findlay; father-in-law and friend, Craig Ford of West Independence; sister-in-law, Alecia Ford of West Independence; and nieces and nephews, Kiwii, Larkin, Dempsey, and Maguire Bowers, Michaela Holt, Sophia Holt, Stefan, Jordan, and Gavin Bowers, Chase Carpenter, and Myah Dominique.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Pat Ford; and infant brother, Shane Bowers.

Above all, Rodney loved his family and greatly enjoyed coaching and watching his children play sports. He never missed a game. He was an avid fan of Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He could often be found playing softball and will be missed by his wonderful group of friends. He worked hard at Hitachi-Astmo in Findlay for over 20 years to provide for his family and attended West Independence Church. Rodney always remembered to tell his wife how much he loved her every day.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky Street, Findlay, Ohio, 45840, and 10 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2024, until the time of Rodney's funeral at 11 a.m. at West Independence Church, 22876 US-224, Fostoria, Ohio, 44830, with Pastor Ben Wallick officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
