Robert E. Shoupe

Robert E. Shoupe, 94, of Findlay, died at 11:29 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Birchaven Village, Findlay. He was born October 9, 1931, in Findlay, to the late Roscoe and Helen (Kelchner) Shoupe. He married Judith Henry, November 29, 1959, and she survives.

Robert is also survived by his son, Tom (Kim Crocker) Shoupe of Cincinnati; daughter, Cindy (Matt) Long of Wheaton, Illinois; grandchildren, Austin (Ashley) Shoupe, Abby (Bogomil) Kirov, Amanda Murphy, Kevin Long, Elizabeth (A.J.) Souza, Karlie Long, and Ryan Long; great-grandchildren, Phoenix and Cash Murphy, Elijah and Jade Souza, and Niko and Emi Kirov.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Shoupe and Jack Shoupe.

Robert was a 1949 graduate of Lima South High School and earned his degree in civil engineering from Ohio Northern University in 1953. After graduation, he worked for the Ohio Highway Department before serving in the U.S. Army. Robert retired from Marathon Petroleum Company as manager of marketing construction engineering. He remained active by serving as the director of building and grounds at the University of Findlay and Blanchard Valley Hospital.

In addition to his professional career, Robert served as an engineering consultant on various community projects. He was a dedicated member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Findlay for 52 years. Robert enjoyed golfing, playing cards, music, dancing, and traveling, but above all, he cherished spending time with his family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Birchaven for the care they provided to Robert.

Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay, where full military rites will be conducted by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
