Robert Pickens Obituary
Robert D. Pickens, 85, of Brookville, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022.
He was a veteran of U.S. Army. Robert graduated from Bluffton University, where he played football and basketball, and later graduated from Miami University with his master's in education. He taught for 27 years at Meadowdale High School and three years for Dayton Builders Academy. During his time at Meadowdale, Robert coached football. He also had the track record for Sprint Car racing at Eldora Speedway. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and also enjoyed fishing, watching football, and dancing.
He is survived by three children, Zach (Stacy) Pickens, Sarah Pickens, and Luke Pickens; two grandchildren, Carter and Hallie Pickens; brother, Richard "Dick" (Kay) Pickens; and nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred (Osborne) Pickens; brother, John Pickens; and sister, Marilyn Cusac.
Robert's funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Kindred Funeral Home 400 Union Blvd., Englewood, with Pastor Robert Bruce Terry II officiating. Interment will be at Dayton National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

I'm so sorry to hear of his passing, He drove for my Dad, Frank C Brown Sr, in the early 60's in our car called "Ten PIn" sponsored by Johhny's Bowling in Fostoria, and another car also. I have another picture of you would like a copy. Bob was like family and such a great driver, man and all-around person. He will be greatly missed. Again, my condolences to you and the entire Pickens Family.
