Robert A. Boden
Robert Boden, 90, of Carey, left this world Friday, April 19, 2024, at The Manor at Greendale, Findlay. His last days were spent with his family by his side holding his hand.
He was born Sept. 7, 1933, in Wharton, to Quentin and Edith Boden. Robert eloped and married the love of his life, Marie Boden (Taylor), on Oct. 13, 1951. They were happily married for 69 years. She preceded him in death in 2021.
Robert was a wonderful father to six kids, Robert A. (Sandra) Boden Jr. of Dayton, Christina (Michael) Prater of Altus, Oklahoma, Scott (Robyn) Boden (preceded in death), Laurie Scalf of Dayton, Kenneth (Jill) Boden of Carey, and Kelly Boden of Carey. He had 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold, Carl, Clarence, and David; and sisters, Ester, Clarabell, Doris, Reva, Mable, and Mary.
Robert, Pops, Poppy, Grandpa, Dad, Bob, was a patient, generous, and an amazing man who loved his family beyond measure. He lived for family gatherings and playing games like cornhole, horseshoes, and croquet. He was thrilled to have a massive amount of fireworks for his 90th birthday party. After his party, he continued to wear his birthday t-shirt for all the extra "Happy Birthday's."
Robert was a toolmaker at Airfoil Textron, Fostoria. After retirement, he spent his time caring for his wife, fishing with his brothers, and as a talented carpenter, he built beautiful furniture and helped his family with home projects. He was known to organize everything because "everything has its place," especially his tools. He would organize your tools if given the opportunity. Whatever Robert did, he did wholeheartedly and to perfection.
