Rachel Ann Rall Morrison
Rachel Ann Rall Morrison, 83, of Upper Sandusky, went to be with the Lord at Vancrest of Upper Sandusky Nov. 3, 2024.
She was born June 5, 1941, at home on the family farm in Upper Sandusky, to Raymond E. and Gladys M. (Brown) Rall. She was baptized at three days old.
Rachel is preceded in death Oct. 18, 2008, by her husband, Charles Morrison who she married on Oct. 29, 1971 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a highly decorated military retiree.
She is survived by her step- children, Gary Morrison of Roeland Park, Kansas, Cindy (Roy) Rogers of Parkville, Missouri; grandchildren, Kristin (Jeff) Haynes, and their children, Carmen, Lila, James, Melanie Waymon; her son, Aaron, Smithville, Missouri; daughter, Allison (David) Duncan of Sylvania, Ohio; seven siblings, and her twin brother, Reuben (Rosa) Rall of Upper Sandusky, Daniel (Deb) Rall of Columbus, Harriet (Randall) Amendola of Marietta, Georgia, Helen Rall of Upper Sandusky, Pat (David) Smith of Upper Sandusky, Susan (Roger) Schoenberger of Upper Sandusky, Charles (Verlinda) Rall of Carey; 45 nieces and nephews; and her God child, Angie Kinley Franz.
Rachel was a 1959 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, she was 12th in her class, was in CYO, Choir and 4-H. In 1960 she attended University of Dayton. In 1963 she joined the United States Marine Corp serving at Parris Island for 29 months, and Long Island, New York, for six months. As of August 1965, she was a military pay clerk in Kansas City, Missouri until February 1968. In March 1968, she was a financial systems analyst at the civil service Marine Corp Finance Center.
Her hobbies were Sweet Adelines, Kansas City Missouri Chorus, she loved doing needlepoint, crossword puzzles, Sudoka, cryptogram puzzles and loved taking a country drive observing the crops. She continued to educate herself in various subject matters. In 1972 she became an Episcopalian and was very active in the choir, a lector, and volunteered in the church office. In 2011 she came back to Upper Sandusky, and was happy and proud to be back in her childhood Catholic faith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church with Fr Savio Manayalan OFM Conv. officiating. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at the church on the day of the services. Interment will be at Paola Kansas City Cemetery.
