Phyllis Metcalfe Obituary
Phyllis E. Metcalfe (McRill), 87, of Findlay, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at The Inn at Walnut Trail, an assisted living facility in Sunbury.
She was born July 20, 1936, in Findlay, to Hazen and H. Ruth McRill (Johnston). Phyllis married Charles E. Phillips in 1955 and they were later divorced. She then married Walter G. Metcalfe in 1983 and he preceded her in death in 2019.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Joseph Phillips (Vicki Hellmer); daughter-in-law, Carrie Burke (Rich Burke); stepson, Eric Metcalfe (Lisa Metcalfe); seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was employed at Marathon Oil Company before her first marriage and then later at RPM Carbide Die in Arcadia until she and Walter retired in 1994.
She was active as a Lady Shriner in Zenobia Shrine Temple in Toledo.
Phyllis and Walt loved to travel and made several trips to a variety of destinations around the globe.
In lieu of a funeral, a celebration of life is being planned for a future date.
Donations in Phyllis' honor may be made to Zenobia Shriners, 8048 Broadstone Blvd., Perrysburg, Ohio, 43551.
