Phyllis Gerschutz Obituary
Phyllis Gerschutz, 79, of Findlay and formerly of Bluffton, died at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at her residence. She was born April 12, 1945, in Findlay to the late Max and Sarah (Miles) Altman. She married David Gerschutz on September 17, 1966, and he survives.
Phyllis is also survived by her children, Michael (Mellissa) Gerschutz of Findlay, Dr. Greg (Clara) Gerschutz of Findlay, Teresa (Matt) Herman of Ottawa, and Jon Gerschutz of Bluffton; brothers, Carroll "Butch" Altman of Findlay and Steve Altman; sister, Carolyn (Rodney) Parson of Charleston, South Carolina; grandchildren, Brandy Sterling, Dustan Gerschutz, Carmen Gerschutz, Jacob Gerschutz, Kathryn Gerschutz, Amber Gerschutz, Eric Gerschutz, Victoria Gerschutz, Anthony Gerschutz, Daniel Herman, Paul Herman, and Tim Herman; great-grandchildren, Cora Sterling and Aidric Sterling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a great-grandson, Jayce Sterling.
Phyllis was a retired oncology nurse from Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bluffton and Findlay Knights of Columbus Leo Council 957, Findlay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Findlay. Father Adam Hertzfeld presiding. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Findlay.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where a nursing honor guard service will be at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Cancer Patient Services.
