Paula Oldenburg Obituary

Holly Ridge - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Paula Sue Oldenburg, who lost her incredibly brave and sudden battle with lung cancer on August 8th, 2025, at the age of 61.

Paula was truly bigger than life-bold, passionate, quick-witted, and fiercely devoted to her family, her faith, and her work. She spent over 30 years as a paralegal and office manager for Attorney Mark E. Salomone, a career she truly loved and took immense pride in.

Since her recent move to North Carolina, Paula met many new wonderful people and, for the past year, was accompanied by Joe.

Outside of work, Paula was known for her constant lateness, strong opinions, and boundless energy. She loved the simple joy of a perfect golf day, long walks on the beach looking for sea glass, and was just beginning to fulfill her dream of traveling the world-

Paula was a devout Jehovah's Witness whose faith gave her strength, purpose, and peace. Her beliefs guided her life, and in her final days, offered her comfort and hope.

She is survived by her loving children: Jennifer McKeon of West Suffield, Connecticut, and her husband Will McKeon and their children-Noah, Lydia, Evelyn, Will, and Amelia; Michael Rettew, along with his sons Hunter and Logan; and her youngest daughter, Bailey Boudreau, who resides in Dubai.

Paula also leaves behind her beloved sister, Donna McKay(Philip) of Westfield. She is predeceased by two siblings, Rusty Oldenburg(Annmarie) and Laurie Marlow, both of whom also tragically passed from cancer in the last two years. The loss of her brother and sister weighed heavily on Paula's heart, and we take comfort in knowing they are reunited now.

Paula's presence lit up every room she entered, and the space she leaves behind is immeasurable. She will be remembered for her unwavering loyalty, her laugh-until-you-cry sense of humor, her drive, her stories, and above all, her love for her children and grandchildren.

The family will be having a celebration of Paula's life, September 27th Saturday 1-4, at the infamous Villa Rose in Ludlow, MA. If you knew Paula, you know she would have absolutely loved to have it here-surrounded by friends, laughter, and memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider making a donations in Paula's memory to either Care of Life Hospice in Wilmington or the SECU Family House in Chapel Hill, both of which provided the utmost care, unwavering support and compassion during her final days.
