Paul Newell Obituary

Paul Joe Newell

Paul Joe Newell, 77, of Findlay, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital. Paul was born January 22, 1948, to the late Lester and Lois (Myers) Newell in Fostoria. On April 3, 1971, he married Paula Smith who survives in Findlay.

Paul is survived by his wife; son, Kevin Newell of Findlay; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; his brother, Gene (Bethany) Newell of Florida; and sisters, Anna (Walter) Lessun of McComb and Lois (Ernie) Hile of Findlay.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Daniel Newell; and a daughter-in-law, Crystal Newell.

Paul retired from Thyssen Krupp Crankshaft Company, Fostoria, after over 30 years of service. He was a member of McComb Presbyterian Church. During the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Navy on the USS New Jersey Battleship and was in the brown water Navy on various riverboats. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and camping at Indian Lake.

Visitation will be from 10-noon Friday, May 30, 2025, at the COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Paul's memorial service will be at noon at the funeral home, with Pastor Julie Fogel officiating. Members of Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will accord military honors at the funeral home following services.

Memorial contribu-tions may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project.
