Orval D. Coldren

Orval D. Coldren, 86, of Findlay, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ.

He was born May 25, 1937, in Findlay, the son of Walter and Bertha (Plotts) Coldren. He married Princess "Peggy" Copus on May 7, 1955, and she survives in Findlay.

Orval's survivors also include his sons, Michael (Tracy) Coldren of Findlay, Jeffrey (Kelly) Coldren of Dublin, and Gregory (Kimberly) Coldren of Findlay; daughters, Pamela (Jeff) Fetter of Van Buren and Tammie (Terry Lee) McBeath of Findlay; grandchildren, Bryan (Susie), Bridget, Julia (Scott), Elaine (Russell), Matthew, Brock, Madison, Britain (Madelyn), Trenton (Olivia), Jake, Titus, Karlee, Parker, and Cooper; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Evelyn Stillberger, Esther Forkel, Nancy Vasquez, and Mable Fields; and half-brother, Cloyce Coldren.

Orval was a maintenance-machinist at R.C.A Factory for 43 years, retiring in 1998. He was a life member of Upper Room Church of God, Findlay, where he was a greeter and usher. Orval loved to collect tractors and trains. Orval was an enthusiast of the Nickel Plate Steam Locomotives and tractors as well. Orval had a love of carpentry and designed and built his dream home with the help of his family.

Visitation will be 2-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, at Upper Room Church of God, Findlay. Orval's funeral will be 5 p.m. Sunday at the church with Bishop Ken McBeath and Bishop Terry McBeath officiating. Burial will follow at Bechtel Cemetery, Van Buren.
