Michael Mericle Obituary

Michael David Mericle

Michael David Mericle, 73, passed away peacefully at his home in Henderson, Nevada, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, while surrounded by family.

Michael was born May 10, 1951, in Findlay, Ohio, to Harold Dean and Lillian Mae Mericle. Michael lived his life the way he was taught and always led by example. A graduate of Van Buren High School in 1969, Michael achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from The Ohio State University and later a Master of Business Administration from Ashland College. While attending The Ohio State University, Michael was an active member of the Men's Glee Club, where he performed across the United States. His academic success, combined with a budding career in hospital administration, prepared him to uproot from The Buckeye State and move his family to Henderson, Nevada, to chase his dream and open his own private physical therapy practice in 1990. After a distinguished career that led him around the West Coast, Michael retired from Mountain View Hospital as the Director of Physical Rehabilitation in 2017.

In retirement, he and his wife traveled the globe extensively, visiting scores of different countries while making great friends and enjoying the varieties of geography and cultures. When not exploring the world, Michael and Constance would travel back and forth between homes in Ohio and Nevada to enjoy the company of family and friends.

Michael is survived by his wife of 50 years, Constance Lynn Mericle (née Warren); his sister and brother-in-law, Cassandra and Charles Thompson of Findlay, Ohio; his two children and their spouses, Eric and Anntoinette Mericle and Alison and Gregory Horodesky; and his four grandchildren, Corrine, Rylee, Connor, and Nicholas.

Dear Connie, please excuse the delay in responding with our condolences. Just happened to cross an old post on Facebook through a friend. We were shocked to learn of Mike´s passing. I´m sure he´s greatly missed. He was such a great guy with a great personality and I enjoyed working with him so much.

Connie, you and the family have my dearest sympathy. I have never forgotten Mike and Your friendship. Our family often talk about the evening at your home when we were on way to California. Mike was so very good to me as he taught me my new role in PT. May he rest in peace.

I got to know Michael the summer of 1969. We both were temporary employees for the summertime with Columbia Gas of Ohio in Findlay, Ohio. Mike´s dad was a welder for Columbia Gas and a great guy. Michael and I worked hand-in-hand that summer and enjoyed our work for the summer.

When his father passed away, I dropped him a note. Just letting him know that I was thinking about him. I´m lifting prayers for Mike and his family.
