Mary Parks Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Parks

Mary Elizabeth Myers Parks, 95, formerly of Findlay, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Brookdale Care Facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

She was born March 9, 1928, in Warren, the daughter of Thomas B. and Marian F. (Daugherty) Myers. In 1949, she married William W. Parks Sr. and he preceded her in death March 26, 2005.

Mary's survivors include her son, William W. (Charlene) Parks Jr. of Palm Coast, Florida; daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Mark) Parks-Brantmeyer of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and grandchildren, Alison E. Parks and William W. Parks III, both of Florida, and Gillian P. Brantmeyer and Thomas P. Brantmeyer, both of Michigan.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Russel P. Myers.

In 1948, Mary graduated from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, majoring in art with teaching certifications. She also met her husband, Bill, in college. Mary enjoyed many summers spent at Lakeside Chautauqua with family and friends, her art, antique hobbies, and participation in local groups including the Findlay Art League. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Findlay. Mary taught special education in the Findlay City School System for many years before retiring in 1985.

Mary's service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023, Trinity Episcopal Church, Findlay, with Father John Drymon officiating.

Memorial contributions may be directed towards Humane Society and SPCA of Hancock County or Chopin Hall, Findlay.
