Mary Lou Newcomer
Mary Lou Newcomer, 97, of McComb, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Bridge Hospice Care Center.
Mary Lou was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Leipsic, to Roy and Mary (Crawfis) Hector. She married the love of her life, Glen Newcomer, on Feb. 20, 1949, and he preceded her in death Aug. 6, 2019.
Mary Lou is survived by her sons, Mark (Rita) Newcomer and Lee (Jennie) Newcomer; daughter-in-law, Diana Newcomer; grandchildren, Stacy (Dale) Schulte, Brian (Dodi) Newcomer, Nick (Tracy) Latta, Nathan (Emily) Newcomer, Nicole (Chris) Brickner, Matt (Kayla) Newcomer, and Adam Newcomer; and great-grandchildren, Megan and Lauren Schulte, Cole, Madison, Brady, Will, Owen, Caden, and Mia Newcomer, Grady, Addisyn, and Kinsley Latta, Makena, and Hudsen, and Syrus Brickner.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy Newcomer; son, Lynn Newcomer; great-granddaughter, Melissa Schulte; sisters, Margie Payne, Maxine Schmidt, and Anna Mae King.
Mary Lou was a graduate Leipsic High School. Mary Lou was a faithful member of McComb Methodist Church. Her greatest accomplishment in her eyes was her children. Family was very important in Mary Lou's life. Mary Lou crocheted, making afghans for her family and making sure each one of grandchildren and great-grandchildren had one. Mary Lou was also known for her homemade noodles, a recipe that no one can match. She also enjoyed admiring the beautiful nature from her couch. Mary Lou was sparky and calm and more than everything, being a homemaker and supporting her family was the most important part of her life. She always made sure the boys had a good meal when they came home from working in the fields.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2024, until the time of Mary Lou's celebration of life service at 12 p.m. at McComb Methodist Church, 240 S. High St., McComb, with Pastor Doug Kendrick officiating. Interment will follow at West Belmore Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be gifted in Mary Lou's honor to the Autism Society, 4340 East-West Hwy Suite 350, Bethesda, Maryland, 20814, or to the church.
