Mary McRill Obituary

Mary Isabelle (Ogg) McRill

Mary Isabelle (Ogg) McRill, 95, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at her home surrounded by family and under the care of Bridge Hospice.

Mary was born Nov. 29, 1927, at home in Carey where she grew up, to Dewey Samuel Ogg and Ida Victoria (Walter) Ogg. She attended school and graduated from McCutchenville in 1945. Mary met her husband through a blind date arranged by William E. McRill's sister, Evelyn. William and Mary later married Aug. 19, 1949, at Bethlehem Church of the Brethren along with Claren Lee and Evelyn in a double wedding.

Mary was a homemaker at heart and enjoyed keeping her house in perfect order. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, playing the piano, bird watching, gardening, sewing, and being involved at her church. Mary was a woman of faith and enjoyed the fellowship of Church of the Nazarene in Mount Blanchard for over 60 years. She was also active in Hancock County Camp Meeting Association.

Mary will be sadly missed by her husband, William; seven children, David (Mary Jo) of Mt. Blanchard, Gary (Tammy) of Kenton, Benjamin (Billie) of Westerville, Daniel (Paula) of Lakeland, Florida, Jerry (Connie) of Sevenfields, Pennsylvania, Jane (Jeff) Howe of Friendsville, Tennessee, and Joyce (Glen) Roseman of Nashville, Tennessee; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Ida Belle Ford of Sebring.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert Ogg, Chester Ogg, and Jack Ogg; and great-granddaughter, Raelyn Grace True.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Mount Blanchard Church of the Nazarene, 308 South Main St., Mount Blanchard. Mary's service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Pastor James Williams officiating. Interment will be at Van Horn Cemetery. A luncheon at Mt Blanchard United Methodist Church, 204 South Main St., Mt. Blanchard, will follow internment.

Donations may be made in Mary's honor to The Mt. Blanchard Church of the Nazarene.

I remember going to family reunions and seeing Great Aunt Mary there. When we were little we always thought she was our Gramma so we would make the mistake of calling her Gramma because they looked so much alike. Our mom told us once that she was our Great Aunt Mary our Gramma's sister, not our Gramma. I remember Aunt Mary telling mom that it was ok if they wanted to call her Gramma because she was one too and it didn't bother her at all. For a bit growing up after that we called her Gramma Mary. I haven't seen her since I was very little and always wanted to get back down there to see her again . Rest in Peace Aunt Mary, I love you.

Mary was one the most wonderful women and a witness of Christ´s love that I have known. I remember nothing but kindness and smiles from the entire McRill family. My sympathy to you all.

From JIM OGG. Remembering fun times with the family. Playing outside with cousins - hide and seek- flips in the grass- baseball- basketball- football. Loved seeing Grandma and Grandpa at this property- then eventually Bill and Mary and Family. Aunt Mary was confident and knew what she wanted for her family. The love for her family was obvious. She cared for Her Father (Grandpa Dewey) to his passing. Aunt Mary will be missed- but happy she is with her Heavenly Father in Heaven.
