Martha E. Hodge

Martha E. Hodge, 92, of Forest, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

She was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Cambridge, to the late Wilmer L. and Mary Margaret (Terrel) Riggs. Martha first married Dale Dawson and later married Donald G. Hodge.

She is survived by her children, William "Bill" Dawson of Arlington, John Hodge of Chicago, Illinois, and Sandra (Gary) Buerger of Kenton; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her children, Dale Dawson and Barbara Cook Snider.

She was member of Grant United Methodist Church. Martha was a homemaker and also worked at Findlay Fiber, Essex Wire, UAP, and Whirlpool. She belonged to Kenton Order of Eastern Star. Martha enjoyed camping and fishing at her place on Catawba Island, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends.

Martha's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, at Grant United Methodist Church with Pastor Cynthia Morrison officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, at Clark Shields Funeral Home.
