Marilyn Kay (Few) Stinehart

Marilyn Kay (Few) Stinehart, of Findlay, passed away peacefully Friday, January 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 21, 1943, and lived a life devoted to family, faith, and service.

Marilyn grew up in Risingsun and graduated from Risingsun High School in 1961. Marilyn is survived by the love of her life, Marvin, whom she married April 12, 1964. They shared 61 loving years of marriage and together created a home where family and faith always came first.

Marilyn is survived by her two sisters, Judy Lamberjack of Findlay and Sue Darlene Few of Columbus. The three sisters remained close and shared a lifetime of laughter, family traditions, and countless memories. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, David Few and Jessie Few.

Marilyn was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Pamela Stinehart (David Armstrong) and Sandra (Brian) Miller, and was a constant source of support throughout their lives. She attended every activity they were involved in during childhood and adolescence, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on. There were many weekends when Marilyn would arrive on The Ohio State University campus, bringing groceries and a cooler of home-cooked meals for her daughters. That same steadfast love and encouragement continued well into their adulthood, as Marilyn remained a source of comfort, guidance, and unconditional love.

Marilyn found immense joy in her role as grandmother and great-grandmother. Marilyn is lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren, Jacob (Casey) Shriver, Barry (Carly) Miller, Kayla (Victor) Banjo, Darrin Miller, and Renee (Nick) Thomas. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Lena, Mila, and Emi, and was eagerly anticipating the soon-to-be arrival of a fourth great-granddaughter. Marilyn had a special way of spoiling these little girls. Marilyn was also blessed to recently learn that her family would soon welcome two great-grandsons. Marilyn was immensely proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments as they pursued higher education, lifelong learning, and meaningful careers. Marilyn's grandchildren cherish their memories with Grandma and love sharing stories about the time they've spent with her. Some of their favorite memories are vacations at the beach, the many shopping trips to Easton Towne Center and Chicago's Magnificent Mile, listening to Grandma tell them stories, watching The Land Before Time together, and Grandma patiently playing tic tac toe with them during piano recitals to keep them behaving themselves.

Marilyn found great joy in giving to others and especially loved birthdays and Christmas. From shopping to find the perfect gift, to carefully topping each package with the most beautiful ribbons and bows, she poured her love into each present, big and small. She particularly delighted in surprising her great-granddaughters with small gifts whenever she saw them, even when there was no special occasion.

Marilyn's faith was an important part of her life. Marilyn was baptized at Risingsun First Church of God, October 27, 1957. Marilyn attended First Presbyterian Church in Fostoria, where she had been an Elder and a Deacon. Her church community was a source of strength, fellowship, and purpose throughout her life.

Marilyn was a proud member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution for 45 years. She was a past Regent of the Jane Washington Chapter of NSDAR and later became a member of Fort Findlay Chapter of NSDAR. Marilyn served as DAR Registrar and assisted many of the state DAR new members with their research and applications. Marilyn served as Northwest Ohio District Director and was state chairman for Wings of Eagles scholarship program, among many other roles.

Marilyn had a strong work ethic and a diverse professional career. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Rambler dealership in Bowling Green and held a clerical position at Bowling Green State University. She later worked as a medical assistant at a doctor's office in Fostoria, as well as working at Perry Corporation in Lima, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Ohio Diagnostics. Marilyn retired from Mercy Health Partners, bringing to a close many years of dedication to her work. Marilyn genuinely enjoyed working with people and developed many lasting friendships during her career.

Marilyn will be remembered for her faith, strength, and deep love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured, the friendships she cherished, and the countless acts of love that she shared so freely. Marilyn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday January 14, 2026, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church, 201 W. Fremont Street, Fostoria, with the Rev. Robert Butcher and Dr. Marie Louden-Hanes presiding. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria. Following the burial, a funeral luncheon will be in the reception area of Hoening & Son Funeral Home.
