Marie L. Walton

Marie L. Walton, 94, formerly of rural Tiffin, died at 11:11 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Birchaven Heights, Findlay.

She was born May 20, 1929, in Seneca County, to Roy and Mary (Bare) Wagner. She married Dale Walton on Dec. 9, 1950, and he died Dec. 13, 2016.

Marie is survived by her children, Dwight (Susan) Walton of rural Tiffin, Jean (Tim) Aller of rural Sycamore, Karen Weaver of Ottawa, and Kevin (Marilyn) Walton of rural Shelby; 10 grandchildren, Rebecca Walton, Andrew (Sarah) Walton, Kristi (Jacob) Ward, Robin (Nick) Staib, Erin Constanien, Jeffrey (Kristen) Weaver, Erica (Cody) Finnegan, Melissa (John) Schroeder, Cliff (Andrea) Reinbolt, and Nicole Walton; and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many friends at Birchaven and the family would like to thank the Birchaven nurses and aides for the great care for the last 12 years.

Marie was a homemaker, member of Tiffin Harmony Church, 1947 graduate of Melmore High School, member of Harmony Ladies Aid, and played the organ for 35 years at the church.

For hobbies, she loved to bake and was known for her chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls. She also made great potato salad. She loved making purses, working in her garden, helping her husband farm, and camping and traveling the country with family and friends.

Marie's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Terri Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the funeral home.
