Magdalena "Maggie" Lopez
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Magdalena D. "Maggie" Lopez, an amazing wife, loving mother, sister, and friend to all whose lives she touched. She left this world suddenly Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at the age of 71 or "49" like she liked to say.
Maggie is survived by her loving husband, Tracy Lopez. Tracy and Maggie met each other at work 31 years ago. She always said he wore her down to go on a date because he brought her an apple every day. They were married Nov. 13, 1994, in Wayne. During their 29 years of marriage, they created an amazing life together from raising children to owning businesses.
Anyone who knew Maggie knew she was a believer in our Lord, Jesus Christ. She lived her life serving him daily with deep faith. Maggie loved deeply and would do anything she could to help anyone in need. She was a strong, independent woman who made sure to raise her daughters to be the same. Maggie had a silly sense of humor and was always laughing with her family. She was known to make an inappropriate joke here and there. It was also widely known that she would take your picture at the worst possible moments such as eating or sneezing. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and especially her dogs, Miley, Jack, and Cooper.
She was the beloved mother of Victoria (Aaron), Jessica (Walter), Diana (David), Jacob (Melinda), and Erika. She was the proud grandmother of Kaydin, La'Jacia, James, Cienna, Urijah, Teddy, Kellen, Alixandra, and Adrianna. She was the loving sister to Amelia (Robert) Valle, Alice (Steve) Fortney, Irene (Stan) Zbierajewski, Lolly Zavaleta, (Christine Belmares), Edward (Susan) Belmares, and Mary Ann McMillian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bentura and Jesusita Belmares; brothers, David Belmares, Robert Belmares, and Walter Belmares; and sister, Margie Belmares.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, at Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, Ohio, 45840. Maggie's celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Magdalena's honor to Hancock County Humane Society.
