Lois Yingling Obituary

Lois Jane Yingling

Lois Jane Yingling, 92, of Carey, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving family.

Lois was born July 24, 1933, in Carey, to the late Vincent and Johnsie (Coldiron) Mangett. She married David Yingling, February 3, 1952, and he preceded her in death March 2, 2020. Lois is survived by her children, Tom (Kathy Dunnerstick) Yingling, Deb (Toby) Davis, and Susan Yingling; granddaughters, Kelly (Johnathan) Tinsley, Kara Yetzer, and Katie Yingling; great-grandchildren, Laila, Kaia, and Kamille Tinsley, and Cameron Yetzer; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her three siblings, Paul Mangett, Ruth Dirmeyer and Margaret Bakies and grandson-in-law, Luke Yetzer.

Lois was a 1951 graduate of Carey High School and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Carey. Lois worked with Head Start, along with her husband, Dave, who owned Dave's Drive-In in Carey, and was the former office manager of Wyandot County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Lois was a woman whose kindness touched everyone she met. With a loving and generous heart, she had a natural gift for making people feel welcome and valued. She was truly a "people person," always ready with a warm smile, a listening ear, and words of encouragement.

Family was the center of Lois's world. She was deeply devoted to those she loved, and nothing brought her greater joy than time spent together. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she cherished every moment with them, celebrating their accomplishments, sharing in their laughter, and creating memories they will carry with them forever.

Lois also shared a beautiful life of adventure with her beloved husband, David. Each winter, they looked forward to traveling to Myrtle Beach, where they made treasured memories by the ocean. They also enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Hawaii, embracing the beauty, warmth, and spirit of the islands together.

Lois's legacy is one of love, compassion, and devotion to family. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her caring nature, and the countless lives she brightened simply by being herself. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A Time to Gather and Celebrate Lois' Life will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Bridge Hospice for the compassionate care they showed Lois and her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lois's honor to Dorcas Carey Public Library or Bridge Hospice.
